I was just curious as to how the holes, some perfect hexagons were made? The reflection made taking the picture difficult, but it is quite striking. I can understand bubbles, the the shapes stumped me. Thanks for the looks and input.
My guess would be using some sort of hexagonal shaped tool/punch. Regardless, I do think it is quite safe to say that this is the result of boredom.
2013 d looks like someone ran over it 20 times, than hit with a hammer, that hit the vice grip, then an Allen wrench, and then someone took a bight off of it. Then they made part of it black
Some of the hex shapes are pushed through the copper layer, but some are stacked upon one another, so could something have been put on the planchet before strike? Since there are thousands of these things, I would like to see the Allen wrench and the Texan that made them. It is clear now, really tiny studded snow tires.
