It was suggested that I post this in this thread.

I am having a tough time trying to find anything else like this and was hoping someone might have some more information or can give me some tips on where to look. It's so much different than standard bar money. Thanks![IMG]

This appears to be a private issued token. inscribed it says "equivalent of 24 Wen". Not found in any particular catalogs

When does a "private issue" not in any catalog cross the line over to "replica," "counterfeit," or "facsimile?"

Lots of token types out there I would not consider any of those.

Like the conder tokens, or a lot of the stuff seen as exonumia. Hmm, or maybe the Lundy coinage--coins from a self declared country...but isn't really a sovereign state/country. Perhaps a temple token, or even a merchant token, coal scrip etc. 'good for' types of things that may have 'equivalent to xx' statement.

This is not a copy (that I'm aware of) of a government sanctioned, produced, minted, etc monetary unit.

IMO to be a replica it would have to be a copy of something in existence. Same as facsimile, though perhaps not as exact going by word nuance. And not counterfeit because there is no original at all.

An interesting example of the many types of modern fantasy pieces seen in the past decade. Note the colorful nature of the surface is due to a mix of chemical aging techniques.

like these bamboo tokens issued by private enterprises and businesses for use within their business or trade unions. Replica would be a conscious effort to deceive my imitating legal tender currencies. if these were issued not under official authority they will be tokens or private issues 20160904_100744.jpg
