Phoenix - the poll says 80% NT, 20%AT and you say you're still 99.9% sure it's the "real deal".

What was the point of this whole thread and poll if you're not going to pay attention to the comments and votes????

And I'm sorry if I sound rude or anything, but that makes me honestly feel like I am a person that either has no knowledge on coins and just sells them to make a buck, or someone that tries to rip people off. I try to find out what I can on coins before I buy or sell, and I certainly don't want to rip people off. I am sorry if I come across that way to you or anyone else here.

at or nt?....does it even matter?

90% of buyers and sellers [including tpgs]can't tell the difference between the two, and the other 10% don't care as long as it LOOKS nt or is in a holder.

My motto is never be 100% sue of anything, the way I always have been and am. Most things in life you can't always be 100% sure about, especially something like this. Like CPD said, not even most TPGs can tell real toning from not. Just somehting you can't be 100% sure about IMO. I have paid attention to all the comments and opinions, and greatly appreciate all of them. I just wanted some other opinions along with my own, to possibly back up my opinion. Sorry that I am getting everyone in a fit lately, and asking for opinions if that is the case.

Chill. I have no idea about toning.
I commend you for putting up the coin and getting everyone's opinion. That's a "HE double hockeysticks" of a lot better than most people do.

No offense meant and don't disappear, for goodness sakes.

Thats it!!!!!!! I think Phoenix is trying to RIP ME OFF!!!!!!! Trading me a coin that he stuck on a light Bulb. Im outraged. I have his address and I think Im gonna goto his house, knock on his door and KICK HIS BUTT. LMAO, naw me and phoenix have been talking alot lately. Sharing our interests and seeing how we can help each other build on our collections. Anyhow, we came to an agreement that we are both very happy with and thats what counts. He is sending me the 1909VDB that is pictured and an Uncut Sheet of 4 $2 Bills. And Im sending him a whole pile of odds and end coins that he need to finish his circulated collection, upgrade some of his earlier date lincolns and jump start his BU wheatie collection. Ive been trying to put away as many higher grade 09VDB coins as I can. And the sheet of $2 bills will have a home in my currency collection. Ive never collected currency before, but last year for my birthday, my mom bought me a really nice Album for uncut sheets of Bills. The album came with a sheet of 4 $1 bills, but I have yet to add to it. Im excited about the sheet of $2 bills that Phoenix is sending me as Im looking forward to showing my mom that Im working on the collection that she started me on. So, both me and Phoenix are happy with our dealings with. And he by no means was trying to pull a fast one on anyone. But if anyone thinks hes trying to rip me off, just let me know. I will show up at his house and kick his butt. Then Ill post black eyed and bloody pictures for all to see.

I am sorry for getting upset like I did. I have a sore throat today, and a tremendous headache that has me seeing little funny purple and green people, lol. Lol DJP, best of luck getting in, I have my mini maltese as a guard dog, and she'll bit your toes to death, all two pounds of her! :D And no, I will not leave or disapear, will take more than a comment to make me leave. THe only thing I now really have a problem with is when people jump to conclusions, but that's basically human nature I guess.

Look, the problem as I see it is this. You have in the past many coins here asking for opinions. And normally that would be fine. But then you either agree to trade the coins or sell them and when you do so you advertise the coins based on the opinions you receive. That is a dangerous proposition.

Why ? Because all we have are pics to look at, we don't have the coin in hand. And if don't know by now that pictures of coins can be extremely misleading - now ya do because I just told ya.

Ask for all the opinions you want. But when it comes down to it, any adevertisement or coin description needs to be based solely on your own opinion after an in hand description. And if you are not 100% sure about what you are talking about, then say so, point blank in your description. It'll save your reputation.

Hopefully you realize that I am telling you this for your own good because I care enough to help you - not because I am criticizing you.

Yes, except I do that with only some of my coins only to get second opinions. Just the way I took what you said, it sounds like IMO the way you are putting it, that I just collect to sell. That is not true. I collect for the beauty of the coins, and the knowledge and fun that can come with it. I trust my opinion, I just like to get others as well. Not only do I post pics and ask questions here, but I also sometimes take my coins to my dealer and get his opinion also, since he can examine the coin in hand. I know it is frowned upon by people to sell coins, but at my age it is the only way I can make money. I hate to sell some coins, but it is really my only alternative to get coins that I need for my collection. And trading I think is a great thing, because normally the end result is both ends normally get what they want, and someone else can enjoy something they don't want.

And I definetly know pictures can be decieving, it is very easy to do. Examples like rlm cents 14 D that he purchased, very decieving pics from the seller, got by a lot of people here. I would honestly never purposely try to decieve anyone like that, just not me. I wouldn't like it done to me, so I won't do it to others.

And I try to get all the opinons I can get, just in case there is something I missed. I even like I said earlier like to get my dealer's opinion to, because he can see the coin in hand. But I too like to get opinions from professional like yourself and others, cause I want to make sure about something, cause the last thing I would want to do is decieve anyone. You and others know a coin that is a MS-64 R and NT, is worth considerably more than a MS-64 R that is baked. I was on the fence with this coin, and wanted some help, and I came to it I think with an open mind, and got some very positive feedback, which now really backs me up now, I just like to have that security.

I thank you for all the help you have given me, and others. I hope you might still help me later on when I have other questions too. I value yours and a lot of other members here opinions and help. It may not seem it, but it is really appreciated, atleast by me, but I know others here appreciate it too. Now please do not take me as snotty, rude, angry, or anything negative. I intend none of this in what I have said. I am just telling my perspective and all.
