1992 Penny DDD?

    Hello everyone,

    Found another penny that looks like a doubled die to me and yes I know it's not but just one more time I have to ask, are these coins DDD's? Sometimes it looks like the mint mark is a RPM.

    Second that! I was looking at it and saying to myself DDD but was not 100% Still learning myself after 10 years.

    Yes the date is definitely Die Deterioration Doubling.. Nothing else.

    Cool link frog! Looks like the 'planchets' I posted are NOT planchets, but blanks?

    ed.: are the terms / names / nomenclature used on that site recognized across the industry? Or are they author's personal names for stuff - like "cut-and-tear texture"?

    2nd ed.: well, looks like in the 1940 video of Philly Mint, blanks ARE called planchets (even before rolling to give them the 'edge'). ???
