i had a couple extra bucks. 16 to be exact. $10.00 went to 5 Nickel Rolls. $6.00 went to 12 Penny Rolls. 12 penny rolls and I pulled nothing better than the stack of 74 copper pennies. Out of 5 Nickel rolls I pull 2 hole fillers. 1938 D (5.4mil minted) and 1949 plain ( 60.7mil) * pictures below. Two (2) 1961 plains that are just beautiful specimens And a 2009 Denver.

Maybe it’s just the sheer maddening number of how many pennies are out there that make me lose faith.

It is how willing you are to search for the good Rolls. There out there,
I have been stuck on a 50$ Bag that is full of 60's 70's and 80's Cents
Most AU some MS some BU. The funny thing is? There are plenty of nice Lincoln rolls out there, some lucky (for you) Mistakes.

You’re right. I think it’s also about patience. At first I enjoyed ripping through penny rolls but now that both my cent books have been nearly complete for 2 months I’ve nearly given up on finding things like 68-73 San Francisco’s in rolls. They are relatively low mintages and being on the east coast surely doesn’t help. The third penny book is a 1909-1949, and I may have added 2 pennies I’ve found roll searching there. The rest I either had or bought for under 1$ at the flea market.
