You asked a question, got an answer and started arguing with the person who answered you. Who is the prick?

If you want to be a newbie act like one, the retorts you got were because you acted like a seasoned collector that did his homework.
Which do you want to be?
The 56D is a dime a dozen coin, I'll push the benefit of the doubt and say your 56D is worth a buck! The coin shortage has nothing to do with the value of your coin. The auction record is just that an auction record , A top pop coin, the etsy is just some ridiculous seller putting an uneducated guess on the value of a coin, only a bidiot would buy that coin. That place is full of ignorance. Just like you tube videos.

And you were so close to showing that you're different from the rest...

If you have a problem with what Chris said, you should have taken it up with him (do notice how his post was directed towards me), but no.... instead you decide to lump everyone together, including the fine members who freely gave their time and knowledge hoping to help you.

Sorry, but one doesn't need to have "started off knowing everything" in order to see how foolish such a move is.

and caretaker of these coins for a short time period, Get yourself some educational references.
@cpm9ball shoots it strait, and knows his English. He usually gets the call out, because he tells you what you don't want to hear.

What is y'all's thoughts on buying penny rolls on the Internet is there any one of them that would be okay to buy

When asking very generic questions, you should expect equally generic answers. This considered, perhaps it would be wise to clarify as to exactly the type of rolls you're talking about.

That said, as a general rule.... don't bother.

Would that be a missing clad layer?

I would look for evidence of the remaining copper layer bubbling. Some of these are the result of a chemical removing the copper.
    2011 had some plating issues.
You should start a new thread about this coin you will get much better answers.

It does look like a partially plated planchet, the zinc is oxidizing on the obverse unfortunately.
