Just paid for postage for this one; on it's way out for some detailed analysis work.

About $10 back in 2000 out of a dealer's assorted silver box.
(something like $20 in todays money).

Sorry for the terrible pics. They are pretty old too. Speckled tone.

Picked this one up the other evening....an 1870 rpd 001 and ddo in an old green PCI slab. $27.50 shipped. Not a key as 1,300,000 minted still a nice variety and color coin slabed for under $30! s-l400-15.jpg s-l400-10.jpg s-l400-12.jpg
A special thanks to @Seattlite86 for the assist....thanks buddy!

I just purchased this for $10 plus $4 shipping. If genuine Silver, it has about a melt value of ABOUT $12.75. But it's an impossible coin, which of course makes me suspect at least one of the photos does not belong with the actual coin.

See if you can tell me why it's an impossible coin.

No Denver minted Peace dollars in 1928. Also, the apparent 'die clash' is also a weird piece to this token's story.

I think this curio is worth $14 just in entertainment value.

    Agreed.

BTW, the flip-over strikes/clashes eliminate wrong photos as the problem. It's definitely the coin.

Thinking about it, the clashes would have the reversed image, but reversed images from strikes requires a third coin to be stuck to the press acing as a feaux die to create a reversed image. Like you say, the entertainment has just begun.

Right looking face watching above the eagle's back and one looking at the eagle's belly. Rays near the mint mark do not appear to come from Peace Dollar dies. To close together and even lengths.

    Fascinating.
