I have been on the lookout for another rare Nero denarius. This pre-reform example came up on the block today from Numismatic Naumann (one of my go to auction houses). Yes it has issues, but for the price I could not resist it. My new addition is at the end.

Please post your coins of Nero.

Nice addition. Not one that's seen too often.

Agree, that is quite a scarce type. Nice addition, Andrew.

(btw, I never tire of seeing your 'Eagle and Standards' denarius).

Some beauties there. I like Nero because of the 'playing the fiddle while Rome burned' thing. I always wondered if the 'Fiddle' was a musical instrument or a euphemism for something else.
Here are a couple of my (provincial) Neros . . .

    NERO Milne Alexandria 228
    Nero, 54-68 AD, billon tetradrachm

Obverse: Radiate bust of Nero to right.
Reverse: Eagle, stands left, date LIA.
    REFERENCE: Emmett 118, (Year 11 = AD 64/5)
    NERO Milne Alexandria 228.jpg

    NERO Milne Alexandria 297
    Billon tetradrachm, AD 54-68 (year 14 = AD 67/8)
Obv. Radiate bust of Nero left
Rev. Veiled bust of Hera right.
