Seeing how the Cent isn’t worth more than face value I would say that @BooksB4Coins gave a pretty good lesson here. Use this 1cent lesson and whatever play dough costs to see how the minting process works. Nothing wrong with that.

Uh, okay... whatever you say, I guess.

Is it really that hard for you to simply admit you misinterpreted or misread what was said? You're losing more face desperately trying to save it than you ever would have with a simple oops.

And I know it never occurred to you that simply because someone is new, this doesn't automatically make them an idiot. In addition, I'm willing to trust that they possess the reading skills certain other nameless members here lack.

Given the number of new members and the same questions they ask it shows they have no experience with coins. I'm simply saying that the play dough analogy is poor as new collectors will do just that with a good coin. Is that to difficult for your understanding? It may work and it may get the point across but its poor advice overall, especially to new collectors. Why do you refer to new collectors as idiots? They just have no experience.

You should actually read what was said. Your understanding is what is poor. Play dough is a great tool for learning what a die looks like and understanding more of the minting process.

I agree, thought it was a great visual.

Apparently you missed the fact that the OP (as well as many others) seems to have had no problem understanding the suggested exercise? If it caused no issues for him and had the potential to be in any way beneficial, is it really such a bad thing?

Perhaps you should take the time to read some of the OP's other posts. While new, he's quite clearly an intelligent and thoughtful individual wishing to learn, and for this reason alone I refuse to apologize or take back what was both a common sense and good faith suggestion he both understood and was intended to help him.

I'm really starting to feel bad about this, and simply due to the fact it's abundantly clear that you're wholly unable to mentally process what you read.

As for me supposedly referring to them "idiots", I'm not the one suggesting the new have no ability to reason and will go around sticking their valuable/potentially valuable coins into playdough for the hell of it, am I?

I'm sorry, but sometimes this place really is unfathomably stupid.

No loss whatsoever. Apparently someone just can't....

    Best of luck to you.
