They should include Ben Franklin too, but that would bump up the price of the set just a bit. I guess we're buying this year's set because we have all the others. It's as good a reason as any.
It would be interesting to see a founding fathers set with Hamilton and Franklin added. That set would definitely have a much higher price tag. I still like the idea of combination sets like Coin & Currency or postage stamps. It would be nice to see more creative and complex offerings.
Just a reminder/tip to new collectors; Even though the notes look cool in the BEP folders, take them out of the corner-held folders to prevent long term storage damage to the notes. The notes may or may not have much value long term, but leaving them in the folders will bump them down from CU to AU because of the look they may receive, appearing to be corner folds.
I'd love for them to make a set with all notes, $1 to $100, with matching serials. Expensive, yes, but what a cool set that would be to have. And since I'm dreaming, how about if they were all star notes...
I received the first installment of the WW1 Intaglio Prints, featuring color reproductions of portions of US currency for the first time in years. I'm looking forward to the next 2, especially the gorgeous late 1890's eagle. Nice production values as expected.
Sorry, it looks like I killed this thread... hope someone is working on the new uncut sheet serial numbers...
I got my order in at about that time also. They put the link up early this time. Got 2 this time for some reason...
It was 7:58, I checked. That's still a lot earlier than usual for me, so I hope I'll get lower #s than the other times.
I got my order in at 7:58, also. The last few times I have ordered from BEP the shipping has been very quick. I wonder if we will see these by Saturday.
That's not a lot of information to go on.... Can you be more specific about the series, block letters, and serial numbers?
I just received my order from the BEP that included a Series 2017 $1 5-note uncut sheet and a Series 2017 $1 50-note uncut sheet. I haven't looked at the 50-note sheet yet, but my 5-note sheet has the following serials: F35319035A - Plate position A1 - Front Plate A11 - Back Plate 4 F35319135A - Plate position B1 - Front Plate B11 - Back Plate 4 F35319235A - Plate position C1 - Front Plate C11 - Back Plate 4 F35319335A - Plate position D1 - Front Plate D11 - Back Plate 4 F35319435A - Plate position E1 - Front Plate E11 - Back Plate 4
Looks I got mine in just ahead of you, I got 0240 and 0241. How do they fit the sets into those Ziploc bags they use, anyway? I like that they put them in the bags, but I always have to cut off the Ziploc part to be able to slide the sets out!
