Great Britain (England): silver 4 pence (groat) of James II, 1688

Continue Roman numerals, if you like, or switch to deposed monarchs.

OK - Crown of James II - he was deposed and replaced by William and Mary in 1688:

Caligula was deposed the way many subsequent Roman emperors would be - at the pointy end(s) of one or more bladed weapons.

Maurice Tiberius was deposed and murdered by Phocas ten years after this coin was minted, in 602, while Phocas was deposed by Heraclius eight years later. This follis is from Nikomedia, and I want to tell these die engravers to “just phocas” 9E9765B8-9B68-46DC-BD9D-1C2E616EF46C.jpeg 7AACEEFB-EA5D-4CEF-90ED-36D40ACCA91E.jpeg

And I want to say that to my photo of the reverse! I guess I’ll be rephotographing that soon.
