Gorgeous half dime. I suspect (pun intended) that the rim ding will cause it to be dinged by a TPG. Still, gorgeous...
Well Larry you know what I'm about to say...... If it ever needs a home you know about Uncle Paddy's home for wayward half dimes right? Valentine's #4
well, I resent that.....actually I'll be all of 60 this year (so maybe you are right). I buy my U.S coins in Europe and over the years I have been able to find a few interesting prices for very good prices.
You've found some OUTSTANDING pieces! ...congrats. Sorry about the age crack...I meant to say "Older than Doug". Btw...I turn 60 this year, too. "Year of the Dog" ...represent!
1996 P Jefferson nickel. 50% off center. Not only full and complete date, but also has a Monticello with full steps.
Most off center errors are full steps or great details on other devices, if 50% or more of the strike hit. Although just about impossible to fi d any longer in mint bags these generally sell for $20 or less.
I just haven't seen many that are 50% off with a full date, the entire steps showing, and no marks on the steps.
$50 on the nose. Nothing to brag about as far as expert cherry-picking skills, just refreshing the BIN listings at the right moment. At 15% below Coinflation melt, I'll buy all the non-cull Barber halves anyone's willing to sell me. (These are worn enough to have lost a bit less than 7% of their weight -- 116.34g against a nominal 125g -- but I'm guessing they'd still sell for more than "Coinflation melt" to the right buyers.)
