Hi, gang! I hope you can help me. This was sold to me as a quasi-autonomous issue of Smyrna in Ionia, SNG Cop 1304. But looking at the coin's inscription, I don't believe that's the case. I believe it's of Stratoniceia. I don't know if it's the one in Caria or in Lydia, though. Does anybody know of another example online or a reference number? Anyone know which city issued it and when?

    Stratoniceia Senate-Nike.jpg
    Quasi-autonomous issue, AD ???
    Stratoniceia (Magistrate Strategos?)
    8.01 g, 26.1 mm, 5 h
Obv: ΙЄΡΑ CVΝ [ΚΛΗΤΟC], bust of Senate, right
Rev: CΤΡ•CΤΡΑΤΟΝЄ[ΙΚ...], Winged Nemesis* advancing right, hand bent and plucking chiton at her neck, holding bridle in left hand
    Refs: ???

*The plucking of the chiton (so as to spit on the breast to ward off the evil eye) and the bridle in hand identify the deity as Nemesis, distinguishing her from the other winged goddess, Nike.

Smyrna issued Pseudo-autonomous issues which are not rare. I believe the seller's ID was comparing the coin to one like this sold by CNG:

The legend on your coin starts CTP followed by CTPATONEI which I read as strategos Stratoneikianos with the city name missing at the right. I suspect it was Smyrna.

Mine below is a different reverse and promotes the Smyrna third Neocourate temple but has no magistrate. It was later than yours (by style) but I do not have good dates.

Thank you, Doug! That is really helpful! Here is one with a similar reverse type to yours but issued by Strategos Stratoneikianos like mine.

    I will catalog it as

    Time of Commodus
    Quasi-autonomous AE 26.1 mm, 8.01 g, 5 h
Ionia, Smyrna, Strategos Kl. Stratoneikianos, AD 182-184
Obv: ΙЄΡΑ ϹVΝΚΛΗΤΟϹ, draped bust of Senate, right
Rev: CΤΡ•CΤΡΑΤΟΝЄΙΚΙΑΝΟV СΜVΡΝΑΙΩΝ, Winged Nemesis of Smyrna, advancing right, plucking chiton and holding bridle
Refs: RPC IV 278 (temp); Klose XV B a; SNG Cop. 1304.
