Which do you think would be a better purchase, a 2007 Silver Mint Set or a set of the 1st four Presidential Coins that are PCGS PR69 Ultra Cameo? Just curious about which one would increase in value more over time. I know that not all silver mint sets have increased in value like the 1999 and 2001 sets. And I also have no clue what the Presidential coins may due over time, I personally think they're oversold and will decrease in value but still consider the fact that they are the first of a limited series. Just need opinions please, mint set or Prez. $'s. Thanks
2007 Silver Proof set would be my guess. Limited production and lots of potential collectors. I think the SQs will die down after 2008 and then resurge in about 5 years.
The silver proof set also comes with the set of President dollars so if you wanted you could later send them in to NGC to get them graded. Just be picky and pick out a great looking set! Speedy
"a 2007 Silver Mint Set " How come no one mentioned that there were not any mint sets in silver? Only silver proof sets.
A great many people mis-use the terminolgy. Some don't even know the difference between a Mint set and Proof set and they will call anything sold by the mint a Mint set.
I'll go with the majority and say Silver Proof set. You get the Prez dollars with it, plus more. IMO, you are just buying the slab when you are getting anything Modern that is graded MS 69 or 70, or PR 69 or 70. Just my opinion. Phoenix
