someone really needs to invent a machine that will sort coins based upon the year on the coin.

    I’m pulling the following:
    1960, 1960 D (small date, RPD)
    1969 (DDO)
    1971 (DDO)
    1972 (DDO)
    1982 (DDR)
    1983 (DDR)
    1984 (DDO)
    1992, 1992 D (CAM)
    1993 (WAM)
    1995 (DDO)
    1996, 1998, 1999, 2000 (WAM)

Also pulling all foreign coins, there are a few. And pulling all wheat cents; there are about 30 or so, thus far. Found some dimes as I poured them into the boxes.

I’m separating out all 1981 and older to sell as copper.

The rest gets dumped in the bank.

Are those collected from change or did you actually buy them?

This was a purchase. I’m afraid I have to keep my source a secret. It was a great deal.

So things fall off trucks in Germany as well, do they? ;)

This sounds like a detective story. In Germany but the boxes are in English.

The joy of speaking the language here is shamelessly asking people who deal with money if they have any US cents.

Don’t know if I can survive this, though. There’s just too much. I might give up and just dump all at some point, or pay for/build a sorter that sorts by weight to at least separate coppers.

You can buy them on EBay for $10. I have one. They separate by metallic content so they also sort dimes and quarters into silver and non-silver.

Feel free to post a link. I might need it at some point. I’m curious how sturdy they are and how many coins you can put in.
