The Wikipedia page for Kaykhusraw II actually has a pretty nice dirham at the top of the page.

I like these coins not just because of the design but also for once after centuries images of portraits or animate objects appear on Islamic coins. Since the al-Malek reforms, it was taboo to depict Them under the pretext of encouraging idolatry.

I have a beautiful Sultanate of Rum dirham of Kaykhusraw II and I don't know what it worth. My dad passed away recently and had an extensive collection. This is one of the coins I decided to keep because it is beautiful. if anyone knows its value i would appreciate it. I love it.

I debated over the flat area on the feet and tail, but I lost the argument with 7 seconds left to bid.

Lovely too. But "too much" text-information. I'll stick with the previous "model"... :D;)

Much like @TIF, mine was a piggy back coin #coinstalk. It was just too cool to resist, and since I was already paying for the shipping from Europe for another grip of coins I would've been a dope not to get it:wacky:...is what I keep telling myself.
Anyway, mine isn't nearly as nice as @Sallent nor hers but I really feel I got a great price, 42 euros about 58 with fees and shipping, (the seller had it listed as AE, obviously not as its so silver it shines like the smiling Sun) and is a beautiful coin.

LOL, right. Well, someone here has my former dirham from Rum. I wish they would share it some more as it is a beautiful coin, and worthy of being shared as much as possible.
