Just got this guy from a fellow forum member. It's the first '95 $20 I've added to my collection. Man, I just love the small portrait notes: :smile
I'm waiting on getting the $ to go pick up a CA '95 $20 from my bank. I'll post it on here when I get it. Nice purchse. I'm guessing you acquired it for face? -tbud
Thank you. Yup, face value, plus a small amount extra for shipping. I've been trying to find a nice '95 for my collection for a while, and this was a good deal, so I jumped on it. I also have a '93 $20, and a couple of '90 $20's, which were circ finds. With the '95's though, I wasn't having much luck. Good luck on getting that '95 from your bank. Post it in here, when you do!
$32 bucks on eBay, CCmint... I don't even remember it being an auction? I think I purchased it straight up... Unfortunately I don't excel/database the user name on my notes, which is something I should start doing! I DBase virtually everything else about the note though. I got lucky on that note for sure, however luck wasn't a lady tonight! I tried on no less than four $20 Large Gold Certs, and missed each one by dollars! I usually don't have $300 to drop on a single note, but those suckers are soooo gorgeous, that I can do without food and gas for a couple of months. LOL Here this will help take some of the pain out of looking for a 1995! Once you feast your eyes on this note, you'll forget all about the small $20's for a while LOL. Am I digressing yet?
I hear you on the gold certs Ron. I want one, but can't seem to ever find the correct bid to end up winning one. One day soon though, either the $10 or the $20 would work for me as I like both notes.
I rarely see 'em either. 1995 $5s and $10s are relatively common as far as oldstyle bills go. don't have any in my collection - didn't find any high-grade and/or cool serial that I thought were worth saving.
funny this should come up. A 1995 $20 was my only oldstyle bill find today. LC block, nothing spectacular about the serial or condition, plan on spending it. Also don't have any wheresgeorge hits on 1995 $20s, making me more inclined to spend the thing.
I don't have any GC's - too expensive. I do however have an Excel file with info about my bill collection. Letter/number code reflecting the order in which it's physically stored, denomination, type, series, serial, section of collection, condition, acquisition date, value, notes 'Notes' often includes info on where I got the bill (including site/username when applicable)
Finally bought a 1922 $20 Gold Cert! Believe me, I sat in bed with my finger on the buy button for at least ten minutes! (Paid off & cut up all my credit cards back in '09, so every big purchase is a BIG purchase for me)! Also I couldn't decide on this one or a 1902 $5 3rd Charter Dateback - that and I feel bad buying something for myself during Christmas? Sooo I decided to package it and put it under the tree with my name on it, from my wife LOL no serious! Not the first time I've done this BTW. So when the family shows up on Christmas eve, I'll bust out a nice story on how my wife must of found my eBay wish list or something, and she had to sale some of her jewelry to pay for it? "She's a keeper" yada - yada... This is a pic from the sellers listing... I hope it makes it here before Christmas??? Bought it Sunday night, and the seller is pretty quick at shipping... Well see... BTW: Looks to be a midgrade VF-25...
If you want to give it away for free I will take it. But you are not allowed to try to sell something as a new member nor on this thread.
Just spend it. There's less headaches all around. Notes that have value are usually: In excellent condition, old, rare, errors, fancy serial numbered. I doubt your circulated 1995 meets any of these conditions.
What of the 1966 $100.00 United States Bank Notes [red seals]. Not many were released, and most were destroyed a few years ago. I have all 1966, 1966A, and 1966A*The star is the hardest to locate.
There's 1966 and 1966A. Condition is a factor so photos are nec. but I believe there is a premium for these notes. $125 and up depending on condition. Serious collectors will not be interested if it is very worn. Here is the link: https://www.uscurrencyauctions.com/$100-us-currency-value-price-guide.htm
