In '84 there was. 1982 and 1983 were the "no set" years. 1984 was the beginning of colorful envelope mint sets.
Anybody have any ideal why they strike this die ( reverse ) in such a late die state ? The one I posted, must be a stage G ..
I have an idea. 1984 was the year of maximum growth after the "Malaise" mini-recession. More demand for coins for commerce than before. Demand led to working the dies longer.
