I just finished 8- $25 boxes of Lincolns from my wifes Credit Union. I found 55 wheat cents, which I thought was a very high amount, and about $35 in 1959-1981 cents, $5 or so in 1982's to seperate later, and $5 or so of 1983,84,95 to check later. Took about 2 weeks by hand.

I will not roll and return, I'll eat the 8.9% in those change redemtion machines at the grocery. I will attemp to make arrangements with the bank or credit untion to drop off bulk cents and have them run them thru the counter/wrapper at a small fee, it has to be less than the 8.9%.

Wow, very nice! I'd say that's pretty good, that's a little more than 1 a roll. I average about 1 every 3 or 4 rolls, so I would say you did pretty darn good. Any good dates?

I am searching rolls for a set of jeffersons. Although this is happening at a sometimes glacial pace, I check as many rolls as I can when I can. This last weekend I got 5 rolls to search through and the only coin of any note was a 1968-D. I also found a 1953-D and 6 1964 dated coins, but I didn't need these for my set. I currently need a 1962 and a 1968-S to complete everything from 1962-date and I figure that is the most basic and simple part of the set to assemble. Everything before that is contained in the first whitman folder and once I have completed number two I fear that the real work will begin on this set.

It's been a while since I've had a good box of halves... November has been a pretty dry month overall for both silver and hole-fillers (it doesn't help that I'm now down to looking for proofs and non-circulation business strikes..).. After starting tonight's pickup rather slowly, it picked up in the last two boxes.

    Box #1: 1 - 40%, 1 - 2002+
    Box #2: 1 - 90%, 4 - 40%
    Box #3: 32 - 40%, 2 - 2002+
    Box #4: 29 - 40%

I love it when opening a box and seeing multiple rolls with silver on the ends.. So much better an initial feeling that opening up boxes that have new-ish looking 2001's on the ends.

Funny thing is, these boxes were dated Oct 10 2007, from the same CWI and bank as I picked up Nov 17 2007 boxes last week. Odd, but I'm not about to complain.. :) Besides the silver, though, there wasn't really much else of note..

I was about 40 mi. w. today having a new tire put on and decided to try to get some halves, I stopped at the first bank and bought $120.00 then continued driving e. and bought $300.00 from another bank and this is what I found-
The $300.00 worth a big fat zilch
    The $120.00 worth
    roll # 1- 18 Liberty Walking, 1 Franklin and 1 Kennedy
    1-34
    2-35, 1 35s
    2-36d
    1-40
    1-41d
    1-42d, 1-42s
    1-44d, 2-44s, 1-44
    1-45d, 1-45s, 1-45
    1-46
    1-50d
    1-71d
    the other 11 rolls
    4-64
    2-65
    2-66
    10-67
    10-68d
    4-69d
This is by far the best I have ever done in roll searching halves, due to the area I live, I was surprised at the willingness that they gave me the halves considering I didn't have accts with them, but boy let me tell you my bank wasn't happy to get them....oohhh well

I'm most of the way through a box of halves and have found no silver at all. In fact, I found nothing of interest at all until the day before yesterday, when I found this:

(This isn't a great photo, but it will do for now.)

This is the nicest JFK half I've ever pulled from circulation for the years 1984-1989. You can make out all his hair lines, the fields are glossy, and you can see the breast feathers on the reverse. The coins from those years are usually spectacular in their scuzziness and lack of detail--I've been told the dies for those years were poor.

In the same roll I found another coin that appears to have a flaw--I think the die was overpolished, causing JFK to have an extra-wide part and a partially "shaved" temple. I'll post photos when I get a chance to take some decent ones.

wish I could get a bx # 3 or 4, all i get here in Utah is box #1's. Today in my box I found a 1967 in great condition, but it was gold colored. It's not plated, just colored, why they did this to some I'll never know.

    New here....

I usually don't get more then a roll, and I am usually content to get what ever is loose on hand.

I found a couple nice ones.

Walking Liberty Half, Poor to Good, Worn so you can not see the date or many details, But it cost me only 50 cents
Nice BU-AU 2003-P Sac Dollar (were these not only released in Mint sets and Direct from Mint rolls?)
    Six Ike Clad Dollars
    Various 1940s and 1950s nickels

I never bother to take them back to the bank..... I just spend them. It's fun loading the U-Scan machine at the Grocery store with nickels. Spend the halves. I love getting questions..... Like what -are- they? And Ohh thats pretty. (you can tell they will pocket the halves), I love spending the new dollar coins and SBAs too.

Will edit the post when I search closer for edge lettering and such.
