A few Denver quarters in MS68 have brought over $5000. Probably the registry guys caused this.

I’ve got a 1976 Silver proof set. I think I paid $16 on eBay. And, no, they have not gone up.

    V. Kurt Bellman Yes, I'm blunt! Get over your "feeeeelings".

Watcha sayin' here? In cleaning out my previous house, I found 5 3-coin 1976 uncirculated sets (40% silver) that have LITERALLY been untouched since 1976. The outside mailing envelope was still sealed. I only opened ONE of the 5 inner red envelopes and a thorough look through the pliofilm shows NO marks whatsoever on any of the 3 coins and all are VERY strong strikes. The other 4 red envelopes are still "virginal".

Really sad that the Mint made 93 jillion of them.

Dealers are currently paying 20-25% over bid for unopened MAILINGS of proof and mint sets.

Every time I get a bicentennial IKE dollar I save them because the design is so cool. My bank sometimes gets them in and they give them to me and now I have 7 of the bicentennial IKE dollar coins.

A Bicenn. Ike that has a strong strike (business) and little to no evidence of wear is truly rare and collectible. The majority seem to be weakly struck and, although I agree the reverse design is cool, I don't care for the way Eisenhower looks on the obverse. Surely they could have come up with something better.
