OK guys.... Yes or no? This one looks completely different than any of the others I have found. The coin is in less than desirable condition , just wondering if this is a doubled die on the I B and E of the word Liberty?

This is a classic case of Die Deterioration Doubling.. It's a plating issue common on Copper Plated Zinc Cents

Liberty has 2 very distinct I's. Really?

Yes.. That's the first thing that caught my eye. Thats a worn Die strike issue. Nothing to do with Hub Doubling.
    Sorry.

I agree with @paddyman98 . The date also shows the common 'outline' around the 9 and 8 from DDD. I think if you had a picture of the coin straight on, it would show that the 'I' is actually a die deterioration issue. From the angle shot you have, it does look like 2 I's there. But, I think this is just a result of the angle and may actually be from the 'B', like you can see on the 'E'.
    Keep searching and posting!

    Hi Sarah,
I just noticed your post. I hope this gives you a little more on your questions. I recommend this little book, it gives someone so much info on allkinds of error coins. Good luck coin hunting, and I have to say, you have amazing eyes. Go to this (cherrypickers pocket guide top 150) It explains all about error coins.

Nice! It's a step up from the cents I have now and from the sense I seem to no longer have since getting sucked into this little hobby. Ha! Didn't even mean to do that.....cents, sense, since. Words are so clever
