Here is an interesting article... At least I thought so. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071128/ap_on_fe_st/odd_million_dollar_bill Cheers, David
that is cool :thumb: and it has all the lookings of being real too. it truly is amazing how advanced the counterfeiters have gotten. I have a $20 dollar fake note, one of the new desings, and it is amazing. the only way to tell its fake is to check the microprinting - it gets all blurry! as a test, i asked several people for change, and they were all about to give me change for it.
A search through the history of US Currency will tell you that the largest note that I know of was the $10,000.00 Note with Salmon P. Chase on it. There are a few around in Gem condition from the Binion collection (Las Vegas) RickieB
most non collectors never even knew there was a 10,000 note printed. Some of the people, mostly older folks, knew about $1000 notes being printed, but thats it. Its wacky for anyone to take the time to make a million dollar note and try to pass it! but considering what else the guy was doing, he needs a reality check with bubba in the local jail!
It looks very well done. however, most people dont even know 500$ notes existed! My grandpa knows that 1000$ used to be around when he was a kid because he had an uncle that used to have some. but other than that most people I know... I take that back, all people except for him I know do not know of anything higher than a 100$.
thats just being dumb. my brother did find a million dollar bill in a soda machine before when he worked for a vending place.
Actually, those $1 million bills were issued by a Texas ministry. I believe the reverse side has some sort of scripture. They were never meant to be counterfeits, but several people tried to pass them nevertheless. I think the FBI or secret service raided the printers, their solution to everything. I love how the guy folded the bill and put markings on it to make it look real! Somehow, even if there were a million dolllar bill, I don't think it would circulate enough to be that worn. Maybe in the future, if inflation keeps going the way it is, but not now.
At least this time the police got it correct. Better than they did arresting the kid for spending the Presidential Proof dollars as counterfeits becasue they hadn't been issued by the mint yet.
You mean because they FOOLISHLY THOUGHT they hadn't been issued yet. Did that kid ever get an apology yet??
The more I see this topic the more laughter that comes from the sheer thought of some poor cashier saying to their boss, how can I change a million dollar bill? LOL Talk about a ditzo, dont ya think you might try a $20 or $10 note first...LOL a $1,000,000.00 note ROTFLMAO :goofer: RickieB
