Long time lurker, first time poster. First of all, I'd like to thank you guys for all the info available here, it's really helped me enjoy the hobby more. I havn't been looking for errors all that long, but was wondering, in you're opinions, if there is a premium for rotated M/M on wheat cents. Sorry, no way to take a decent picture, but i have several with moderate but noticable difference between others of the same year and mint. Thanks in advance
Well, no, actually. I have cents with a mintmark, some D, more S, that don't appear to be rpm's with a 10x loupe. Just seemingly rotated clockwise about 25 degrees. Again, sorry no pics, just curious. Most conspicous is a 1945-s
Look here under RPMs and/or OMMs http://www.varietyvista.com/ Plus, you can pick up a lot of info just bouncing around the site
In 1945 the mint marks were hand punched into the working dies. This made the placement of the mm a little different on each die.
