1982 was the transition year. Both copper and zinc cents were minted. Based on your weight, you likely have a copper one.

If you are referring to the 1982 "small date" cent, no, yours is not that super rare coin.

Yours is worth 2 to 3 cents give or take (due to it being copper). Edit: oops, sorry I overestimated the price of copper. Worth 1 cent.

 

Large date. Regardless of the price of copper, the copper in a copper cent is not worth 2-3 cents. It's .01 cent. People have posted here that cents are alloyed copper not Grade A ($3.24 per pound) and while it is illegal to melt cents for copper, a scrap yard will pay 25% the price for alloyed copper. 146 cents to the pound (avoirdupois not troy) 3.24 x .25= .81 cents per pound for your $1.46 in copper cents.
