3 cent Beaver

I just added a Canadian three cent beaver to my collection. i bought it at Gatewest Coin it's a winnipeg company! Anyways it.s %92.5 silver and gold plated. It is in proof condition here is a picture of it.

Anyhow, I never knew canada had 3 cent pieces. Is this strictly a collector issue in proof and business strike? Or are there business strikes for circulation also?

 

I heard that for 2008 the Royal Canadian Mint will be making a special 10 kg gold coin with a real beaver embedded in the coin!

That is rather nice but I would prefer to see it in plain silver with a proof finish, boy I bet the design would realy stand out then Having said all that believe me I would happily add it to my collection :thumb:
