1969 Roosevelt nickel error..?

    So I've had this nickel in my collection for a while and it looks quite odd. Is it an error? (EDIT: CRAP I MEANT JEFFERSON)

    If it were a Roosevelt nickel, that WOULD BE quite an error, wouldn't it? It's damage ... and it's Jefferson.

    That looks a bit like acid damage to me but I'm no expert. Hopefully some other people can chime in and add their speculations as to what that is.
