Looks like a Die Crack.. I know nothing about value.. Just that it's a plain old Quarter worth 25 Cents.. But is it really important?
The line through the legend looks like a scratch, but the lower mark looks like a die gouge. If that is the case, it is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Personally, it would only be worth 25c to me. Chris
WOW I have only posted a few threads and every time someone has to make me feel stupid and belittled. Is that how this forum is? If so I will just leave.
What you don't realize is that we get plenty of people, here, who not only know very little about numismatics or errors, but always want to know if what they have found has any value. It stands to reason that you need to learn your ABC's before you write Gone With The Wind. Frank already said that he was just kidding, but you have to acquire a thicker skin. Chris
I find your claim rather interesting considering the fact that the other two threads you've started were handled in a perfectly helpful, kind, and accepting manner. Additionally, I couldn't find a singe instance where anyone was less than decent (towards you) in your posting history. Could it be that you're either exaggerating just a wee bit, or that you're a particularly sensitive individual? Perhaps it would be wise to remember that the folks who've kindly given their time and shared knowledge in order to assist you do not have to do so. Take from the forum what benefits you and simply ignore the rest.
Some days we feel like a nut, some days we don't. I'm sure there was no foul intended. Some folks do get irritated when after advice is given several times, the person posting does not seem to do any leg work of their own before posting something very similar again. Once you have learned the basics, all else will come naturally. Hunker down with a copy of the Red Book, learn the minting process and you will soon be able to eliminate a lot of questions.
