Absolutely my pleasure! Your image is rather more colourful than mine, eh?

I wish I knew how to remove these hard mineral deposits without damaging the coin or patina. I spent about an hour this afternoon trying to clean without scratching thru the patina. I had some luck as you can see, but anywhere close to what I was hoping. It's a very nice coin with excellent detail and I would like to show it off w/o that darn green deposit. For comparison, the first image is yesterday's while the second is after my feeble cleaning attempt.

Looks like a pretty decent cleaning attempt to me, at least a decent start. Verdicare? ammonia? or just mechanical? Would be nice to get that bit off his eye...

I use verdicare, but that's not enough. It's hard mineral deposit so I think it will take some muscle or something to soften it.

Bob Reis says a soak in ammonia can help with green deposits, and is not too terribly risky. (Haven't tried it myself.) Maybe a combo of ammonia and mechanical?

My Bukhar-Hudat arrived today. Thanks to Severus Alexander for his generousity. I will have to explore this area of numismatic, I am mainly focused on Roman Imperial Coins.

Great, enjoy exploring! Surprising that it arrived all the way over in your neighbourhood nearly as quickly as some others got to Florida.
