I think you will find many that disagree with you. I encourage anyone reading this to look through my post history and see for themselves that I provide good photos, good information, or ask good questions. You act like it's just your word versus my word which I just find incredibly foolish and short-sighted. Again, anyone can go through my post history and see you are lying in an attempt to discredit me because you simply don't like me. Well, you picked the wrong person to do that with.

He may very well be knowledgeable. I never said he wasn't. He just started attacking me for no good reason - because I post photos of coins that are also listed in my store (not a good reason to attack someone). I don't think I have been out of line to defend myself and point out the flaws he has with regards to his attitude.

 

Just got a coupon for $50 off a $100 purchase from the local pawnshop (?!). Guess I'll go see what they've got -- stuff's usually marked up, but with that discount there's surely something that'll be worthwhile. But I guess by definition it won't qualify for this thread.

 

If you get it for exactly 100 then the 50 discount makes it within the parameters! Ha

 

I picked this up on eBay yesterday. It is another under $50 R5 Large Cent ($43.75).

This one happens to be the S-99.

Nope, the title clearly says "your under $50 purchase".

One pawn shop had a 2.5-g .999 gold bar for $129. $50 off would've made it $79, well below melt ($106) -- but I don't know how to authenticate such a thing, much less convince a buyer down the road that it's authentic. But that's all off-topic for the thread, sorry...

 

@GDJMSP got after me for having a sales link in my signature. Since he is a firm believer that rules should be enforced equally, I think it is best if it is removed.

I recently cherry-picked a decent 1851 (N19) from eBay for $21.

Obverse: Die crack from rim, through 4th star, to center of nose, then through the top of eye.

Reverse: Heavy diagonal grooves behind ON[E] within wreath.

Picked-up this group of 3 large cents at a local show for 85 euros (about $100).
$33 per coin.

 

The 1856 is specially nice.
