    Hello All,

Usually I am able to tell the difference between a Double Die and mechanical double die, but in this case, I am confused. There aren't any listings for a Double Die for 2000-P Maryland, which makes me believe this is nothing, but would like to have the experts weigh in specially after the 2000-P DDO Virginia was recently found on 2/3/18. Please look at the "LI" on Liberty and "In God We Trust". Liberty.JPG IGWT.JPG

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

It's doubled, but not the kind you want to see.
It's caused by worn out dies.

Die Deterioration. Nice find but not a true double die. Keep searching and welcome to CT.

Your Quarter has DDD - Die Deterioration Doubling.

Also.. The correct numismatic terminology is Doubled Die.. Not double die
    Big Difference!

    Peace :angelic:

Agreed with all of the above. Best not to place too much faith in You Tube videos on coins. There are way too many self serving amateurs there just looking for attention and have very little real world knowledge. Study the books, come here or ask for links to sites that specialize in real error/variety coins. It will help you to avoid a lot of confusion and disappointment in the future. But DON'T buy the book "Strike It Rich With Pocket Change". Don't even read it if available to you. It has led too many people astray. If you can afford it, do buy the Mega Red Book guide. A lot of great info on just about everything U.S. It's not the do all, end all of book reading but is a great start. IMHO. Tom

I have a 1954-D Nickle. It has a small 5 in the date. is it worth anything?

Hi Jody. You really need to start your own thread on your coin and post pictures, nice clear overhead shots.
