Yup, and that's not unfair. Anything over 25 cents is unfair for a coin in the condition of the ad posted by the OP.

Minimal grade for something you can get a coin shop for maybe 35 cents

Don’t come on the site to ask a question and then argue. You’re getting solid advice.

It is almost impossible to find a 1965 in MS 63 in circulation.
Sure you can pay a dollar for one in a coin shop in that grade.
In 100 years they will still be pulling 1965 and 1976 quarters out of the ground.

At least Granny didn't misrepresent the coin. She said what the photo shows, circulated and at least very good. I wonder if all of you got a chance to sell a quarter like that, would you just exchange it for other coinage or take the money and run. No one mentioned specifically of course.

If he can get $1.25 for that quarter than I'm in the wrong business.

Take a look at the mintage of 1965 Washington quarter and compare to other 1960’s mintages. That’s why they are commonly seen in circulation.

maybe what's confusing the OP is the 'Quarter Dollar' on the reverse - quarter dollar means 1/4 of a dollar or 25c

I think what a lot of experienced collectors are trying to tell you is that a 1965 received in change is worth 25 cents. If you really want a high grade example, it may be tough to find one in change so you would likely have to go to a dealer and pay about $1 (if the dealer even bothers to keep them in stock). No dealer or collector is going to pay you more than FV for a quarter that they can find in change for FV.

    Hope this helps

I have ONE of them in NGC MS67. You won't get THAT one from me for anything short of a three-digit number.
