I've been a member for several years. Members have access to on-line pdf copies of their journal "Longacre's Ledger" dating back to 1991. The Ledger has articles written by members about Flying Eagle and Indian Head cents, explaining varieties and errors. Their forum, though not very active currently, offers (like this forum), access to expert collector discussion. If you like these first US small cents, it is worth joining.

The Longacre's Ledgers have a lot of great information. I have most of them as part of my library. Looks like there are not many members here.

Who was the guy in the Reading, PA area that used to BE the Fly-In club's mailing address? Is he still with us, or has time grabbed him?

Yes sir, I suppose it is, and he's VERY MUCH still with us. He's speaking at the Hershey Coin Club on the 15th.

Chris in now President of the fly-inclub. Cool guy to chat with. At Fun he offered to help me with images of how die steel is made. I hope to put a thread together on the topic.

He is also THE GUY working with the U.S. Mint to eventually eliminate 75/25 cupronickel in circulating coinage in favor of a new stainless steel alloy.
