That thread gives me many smiles. To me, that needs to be forever archived to prove something I've LONNNNG suspected:

    1) Attempting to grade from even GOOD pictures is so foolish as to be pointless. [BTW, yet ANOTHER Bellman indictment of Internet numismatics.]

    and

    2) There is SOME point at which one's age and experience actually NEGATIVELY impacts their credibility regarding grades and grading. I am so worried about that happening to me that I've resolved to ALWAYS keep taking new courses and actively FORGET what I used to "know".

I know and personally interact with many many older experienced numismatists who DO NOT do it for a living. There is NOT EVEN ONE that doesn't consistently undergrade EVERYTHING.

I realize they all think modern grading OVERgrades. To-may-to, to-mah-to.

They’re slower than death on economy. Mines received on dec 26. Hopefully I’ll have it back by March 1 so I can send some to cac which is fast to have by my next show late March

Do you find CAC stickers are worth the expense on econony level coins? In my experience, they sell quicker with a green sticker, but not for so-much-more as to be worth the time and expense.

I run some really decent stuff through economy tier. I really push their limits sometimes with $4-500 coins with a declared value of $285 -300. On this one I have a 1846 tall date half that I’m at au 50 if they like the color. An 89s Morgan that’s probably 63. A 84 cc that’s 64+. A 75-cc half f-12 my call . A 1803. Half that’s really pushing it. Came back xf details cleaned last time. Etc. so a lot of $2-500 coins. They’re so inconsistent I try doing stuff like this to try and make up for their bs sometimes

Factoring in the $14.50 per coin and $50 insured registered mail from CAC is just too much for me to bear. That, and the fact that last year I basically paid $30 per coin since not even half the coins I sent got a sticker. Like I said, it became a burden and I was digging too deep of a hole for myself to make it worthwhile.

I'm having trouble seeing cartwheel spokes in your pictures. You take excellent pictures, way better than me, but I can't see the luster well. I think they're so good they bring out every nick, hit and planchet mark. Maybe it's just me but something about your lighting makes reading the luster difficult...JMHO.

Don’t say this about them over on Instagram. Pretty sure they’ve blocked a dozen people complaining about 2 month grades.

It's okay, I've pretty much "blocked" PCGS from my life already. Whenever I'm looking at a PCGS coin at an auction, I mentally subtract from my high bid what it'd cost to cross it to NGC. Besides, I'm pretty much sitting here wondering how I would ever use Instagram for anything involving a TPGS. Coming up empty.

Thinking 64. Also thinking semi-sweet. Could be milk. But not dark chocolate
