    Let me ask you this! If it was truly a Mint error, how do you think it happened during the minting process?

    Yes. Damaged. I ask myself, "what could have happened during the mintage process to cause this"?

    If I can't answer that, it's either PMD or I need to study just a bit more......usually the former.

    Lighten up Roxy - now that you know what a mint is, here is a good introduction to things that can go wrong during the minting process and some good illustrations of each error type - read, learn, compare your coin to the pix, come back and ask more questions if necessary - work around the hijinx and bemused replies and you will find some helpful info here - welcome aboard and keep asking questions ;)
    "Authentic error coins should not be confused with coins that are damaged after being minted, which is known as post-mint damage (PMD) or post-strike damage (PSD)."

    Roxy its not you. We do love the questions. Sorry some god like members are snippy. It bugs me too. Just hang in there and as time goes on, youll learn to ignore the people who think or forgot what its like to ask a honest question. Plus they might be orphans. Cause my ma use to say if you have nothing nice or pleasant to say. Shut the hell up. Or you might end up being the stupid and obvious social defect. Keep asking cuz when it comes to nucklehead questions. I do quite well

    Hi Roxy. Learning about numismatics is half the fun of this hobby. I thought @cpm9ball response was trying to get you to think about possibilities, ie learn, rather than being snippy.

    Stick around. There are plenty of helpful people on the site.

    @Roxygirl

    I'm trying to encourage you to think for yourself. When I was growing up, that's what my teachers tried to get us to do. Unfortunately, we do have some members, here, who don't believe in self-help.
