May have posted this one a few months back but just imaged it and figured I'd throw it in here as this is my favorite thread
This is the one that started it all for me. When I was 12 years old my Grandmother died. My father and I discovered she had a coin collection. Among the coins was a single gold coin. This 1911 $2.5 dollar gold coin. It is not MS and not worth a lot as gold coins go, but to my 12 year old eyes it was the coolest thing in the world. I now have her entire modest collection as part of my collection. Including this one, which to me is my most important coin.
Not often found in circulated grades and even scarcer w CAC. Sweet little circulated dirty gold coin.
