Is there an 1982 penny?

Is there an 1982 small date Brass penny that weights is 3.2? I have one coin searching. I know of small date 1982 d copper penny.

Yes , philly has them if you find the 1982D that weighs that much That's the money coin. it's kinda funny I just picked up a 82 copper small date off the ground and finished cleaning it with a mr clean magic eraser when you posted this.

Only because it should not exist. I believe only 2 have ever been found.

1982 was struck in both Copper and Copper Plated Zinc.

 

So thats the brass large date that weights 3.2. Not worth anything. But i found 1.

1982 cents have 7 varieties. Copper and Zinc both with large and small dates.

I believe the 82 D copper small date is the rarest of all the varieties for 82 Lincolns but it's not the only variety for that year. The others just don't have as much value.

 

On Thursday (or is it Tuesday?) the brass is 1982. Otherwise it's small.

These are the 7 considered to make a set but there are other known varieties like 1 only of a 1982-D copper small date found in 2016 in Minnesota and the 1982-S large date copper proof (proof sets only).

Copper alloy cents weigh 3.11 grams
Copper Plated Zinc alloy cents weight 2.5 grams

The copper cents have a slight ringing when dropped where zinc is a thud.

I wonder if and when more 1982-D copper small dates will surface. In another 34 years or 2050 perhaps.

 

Paddy, you're an error collector. Is it the price that holds you back from adding this to your, from what I've seen, fantastic collection?
