Dimes are not plated, they are clad with a solid copper core and outer layers of 85% copper and 25% nickel. When viewed from the edge, they'll look sort of like an oreo cookie. Your coin looks normal to me.

I don't know what you mean by "no plating". Would you care to explain?

ok , well it is only a powdered metal color no shiny silverish at all.

ok but shouldn't it be a shiny color instead of having lines all over it? as if it skipped the next plating stage?

    Again, dimes are NOT plated.

ok, well why is this one a blank powder color? any reason behind this?

Circulation. Any reason beyond that is just conjecture.

I can see what you are referring to on your coin. I believe that those striations are caused by the rolling mill that bonds the clad layers together in the strip. @mikediamond could help you with that but you may need clearer photos.

Just so you know it's 91.67% Copper, and 8.33% Nickel, and should weigh
    2.268 Grams.
