    Could this be a Uniface???

    1925 Lincoln Wheat Penny
    weight 3.0 grams

I just had this come in with a bunch of other wheat pennies. It definitely has very very lite reverse side, but at first glance it appears to be blank until you look closer. I believe is was stamped through another penny. The sides are rounded and no flat. You can see the wheat and the word one. Also Lincolns forehead also has an error line.
I weighed a bunch of other Worn 1920s wheat pennies and the weights varied from 2.9-3.1grams.

I've had a couple one-sided pennies that were ground down, but this one is not flat like the ground-down pennies.

What do you guys think? Would it be worth getting it graded?

Well worn, and might have been
'flattened' a bit in it's earlier life,
based on the damage on the obv.

    Not an error, sorry

Why would it be so lite on the reverse, but not the obverse? It measures correct circumference.

Abraham Lincoln must have appeared on millions of U.S. coins. Even God seems to trust him. Is he, or is he not, the greatest U.S. President ever ???

Wornnad if rubbed by a thumb as a pocket piece. Obverse is damaged. A waste of money to grade.

I thought, paddyman98, that I had made my point quite clear. There is a reason why Lincoln has appeared on - alright, Billions of U.S. coins. If you do not wish to consider that, then I'm so sorry, but I cannot help you.

OK Lincoln has been on billions of coins. So has Jefferson, Roosevelt, Washington and I think even Kennedy has been on at least a billion.

Is Lincoln the greatest President ever? Maybe, maybe not. He is typically ranked as one of the best, but he had his weak points as well, as does anyone. One of the reasons he has appeared on so many cents is simply the coins is worth so little that it is a one way coin requiring them to make huge numbers of them. And also because since he is so well liked no politician want to risk disapproval by removing him from the coin. No political guts.

Apologies to the mods if that opinion is too political.

Good point but I'd like to add that Lincoln has been on the cent sine 1909. That's now 118 years and I don't know of any coin that can beat that.

I personally would not say he is the best president ever but I would say he was the best of his time. Give or take a 50 year span. I hope that's not too political but I'm just giving my opinion as asked. I also like an answer to the question, What's your point?

I'd like to ask Conder101, and anyone else who isn't unduly repetitive, what were Lincoln's weak points ? In asking, I'm not denying that he had weak points, that would be foolish. Any suggestions ? Bearing in mind that "weak points" to some might mean strengths to others.

One "weak point", at least of some of the recent posts here, is that they might result in a political debate which would be against our rules. ;)
