Am I correct that this is a strike through of some kind of thread? Don't know a whole lot about this stuff, I honestly thought it should have been a problem coin when I first got it (in an ANACS holder originally). Is it worth getting "strike-through" on the slab (if that's what it is) is there a decent market for stuff like this where that would be a good idea to have on there? Here's the rest of her since it's such a beautiful coin (one of the nicest 65s I've seen):
It is a strike through, cool to look at and show someone but I wouldn't think a coin that nice needs anything added to the label, a clean strait grade should be sufficient enough to get top dollar for the grade.
It isn't a massive strike through, which is why it was probably missed. Stuff from the 19th century isn't rare to have some kind of fiber or hair strike-throughs. Won't add to the value, and may even hurt it.
Now that is a GORGEOUS Morgan Dollar... I would love to have that in my collection. Was it in an old ANACS holder or one of the newer ones? The impression is a strike through as mentioned above.
Thanks, wasn't sure if it was all that common but makes sense that it would be. Was the first one I've come across. A newer yellow ANACS 65 holder. I think the submitter there thought like myself it was a potential problem coin. When I got it I sent it to NGC out of curiosity (partially cause I thought 66 was possible) and then to CAC recently. And thanks! It's a really unique one color-wise and the luster is blazing
