@Roman Collector - Oh! Septimus Severus will be very jealous! He wants to be the last coin I collect. He wants no others after him! Oh! What to do? What to doooooo!??? Uh oh, here he comes!

    SS: {{{{Cointesssssaa!!!}}}}

    LaC: Severus, Sir?

SS: What is this I hear about you accepting a coin of this other Severus??!?

    LaC: Why Sir, I never!!

SS: You said you were satisfied and completely content with your coin of me!! You have changed your way of thinking about your special coin?

LaC: Never!! I need no other coin in life to admire, ruler of my heart! Look, I always keep you right here!

SS: Well, since you are well behaved we will see what I decide in case you happen to win the other Severus.

LaC: Thank you. I will do and I will listen.

SS: By the way, that is a very generous give away by Severus Alexander!

Well, you can be sure that I'll let you know right away if I ever hear of one!

Aw, shucks, thanks Chris. And thanks for posting that nice thick sest., who doesn't love one of those??

@LaCointessa: never fear, if you win via @Roman Collector, I will include a paper envelope for your Sept. Sev. He'll never know you're cheating on him! Just make sure to put all your other coins away when you take him out. ;)

@ancientone, awesome, your second one is the sest. version of my first coin, the rather corroded AE as posted above. I must say, yours has a very nice anchor! Here's mine:

and here's the denarius, which was my first avatar here:

Probably SS will have me pay it forward if I win through @Roman Collector. I hope that is okay. It is so generous of you, Roman Collector to think of me and I thoroughly appreciate the kind gesture. :)

    (P.S. I am not the cheating kind).:angelic:

OK, since the entries are tailing off, I will make the deadline 24 hours from this post.

Here's my avatar coin, a sestertius from 228 with emperor sacrificing reverse. I like the portrait, reverse type, and it also has my favourite type of patina on a bronze coin.

Congrats SA on your CT anniversary, and thanks for hosting a giveaway. I have two Severus Alexander coins in my collection.

I've shared this one on Coin Talk before. It's the second ancient coin I acquired in the +$US100 range, and the first coin in my collection that really blew me away when I held it in hand for the first time:
    1.jpg
    2.jpg

I bought the second one last year. I'd had a busy 2016-17: relocating home after 5 years in Japan, finding work, getting my family settled, and so on... which meant there hadn't been much time for coins. This was a nice coin at a nice price, and it broke a 12 month period of no coin acquisitions. I don't think I've shared it on CT before:

Wow, those who are fashionably late are also the party's stars! Incredible coins. @Daniel_R6, both of those denarii are top flight, but you're right, that first one blows me away. I look forward to seeing a photo of it out of the plastic!

And @Cucumbor... well, English does not suffice! La crème de la crème!!! Merci, mon ami de la pièce...
