Is this ear doubled die? It's a 1984 d cent. Just looks like it to me but I could be seeing things since it's a Denver minted cent I am not quite sure.
Gosh, unless that's just an earring. I don't know why they'd put an earring on Lincoln. I heard he was the conservative type. Rachel, we need crisper pictures of that ear area, I think. Work on that, and let's see what you can get us. Think sharp and clear, now, not like those pictures we often see of the Loch Ness Monster, e.g.
Here's what you have . Wexler DDR-001 . http://doubleddie.com/828865.html Coneca DDR-001 . http://varietyvista.com/01b LC Doubled Dies Vol 2/1984DDDR001.htm Coppercoins DDR-001 . http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1984&die_id=1984d1dr001&die_state=mds
Yeah, thank you so much. The ear wasn't quite that drastic for sure. If anything looked like it was knicked but because of the Philly 84 one it just hade curious. Guess maybe it's just a coincidental knick on the coin. Thanks again all Rachel
I think I've burned the images of both the 1984 & 1997 into my brain. The ear often takes a hit on these giving newbies the initial reaction of OMG, this is it. There are other doubled dies for this year though, at other places on the coin, so never give up.
Thanks a ton for the information! Greatly appreciated. Rachel (fish/newbie and not afraid to admit it)
And here we go again with the magical "varieties". It's high time you start making your case instead of posting such hit and run claims as if absolute fact. If only you would try to genuinely educate half as much as you do playing guru...
I think if it was'nt the ones I posted, the OP would of said it wasn't . So move on my friend, your advice is useless here ..
Now you can answer this question . " Show Me Why It's Not, Those DDOs I posted " . You should have lots of answer to prove your point ... Because I have lots of answer to prove my point ...
I joined this group to learn more about this hobby, passion for some, and out of all the responses I've read in various threads including my own, I found yours to be the most troubling. It was a degrading post and moreover, contained zero educational material. Bullying another member holds no value to this forum and collectors/hunters, like myself, would benefit more from your knowledge of coins than seeing you downplay another member's advice and/or effort to educate another member.
What? You mean to say you can see that in those pictures? My gosh, Rick, you need to come up for some air, buddy! Either that, or I'm freaking blind as they come, as I ain't seeing nothing!
Oh yeah, it was really "troubling." Do you know what I think? I think you're "troubled." It's Monday, and you've been here since Thursday. Try to get it together.
