Normally we would tell everyone to never clean a coin but in this case and with this much zinc problems I see no harm.
As they say the corrosion makes the am look close, my thoughts were the corrosion also made initials appear close ! Thanks for info !
Willysilver I did too ! I looked it over a few times before I posted it . I still wasn't sure so I decided to post it . The corrosion had me boggled !
I buy a bucket of pennys from my local gas station once a month for 50 bucks i think i got a good chance there less shields to my advantage i think lol
I agree this is a Wide AM. The second photo showing reverse says it all. The A in States is centered between the Ts. This makes it a WAM. If it were a CAM the A would be closer to the second T. No need to try to clean it for better confirmation. Toss it aside and keep searching.
