1966 Kennedy

    So I was looking through my Kennedy's and this 1966 one stuck out due to the "Half Dollar" lettering. Is this a restrike?

    No, it's mechanical doubling.

    That's what I was thinking of, but couldn't remember the term.

    definite strike doubling.
    Look at the flat 'shelf like' appearance to the under lying letters.
