Finally shot some better pictures of this 1901 IHC (sorry if they are slightly angled)
    Pretty in-hand.

How would you guys grade her?:)

I'll go with MS-64. Maybe RB. Not sure. Nice coin.

I also think MS 64, but I’ll say BN ...and I’ll second that it looks very nice!

MS63 BN, very nice looking Indian. The small hit on the cheek might keep it from 64.

One of the (many) series that I'm still trying to learn... what's going on with the obverse rim at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock? Would those detract from the grade?

I’m at 64 bn too. Still some red but not enough for the rb designation

That is really nice. Where do these MS 100+ year old business strike coins come from?
Did someone just keep it in a drawer for 75 years when it was new?
    63 uncleaned.

    Thanks!
I am trying to learn more about how to grade IHC's, specially in higher grades. As far as I can tell the 1901 does not have any wear at all, and nice color with some luster - so I guess the grade is knocked due to the color and the minor hit on the cheek?

(I do not actively collect Indian Cents as my focus is more Bust Dimes and early large cents 1793-1814, hence my lack of grading expertise).

Here are a few more IHC's that I would like your opinion on please, now with better pics:

2 nice even brown 64s too. I have the 64 at au 58 and the 64 L at au 55.

Bill, I would have graded the 1864 (no-L) as at least MS60 - I see no wear at all, but it does have some minor marks and two carbon spots. I am guessing that is what knocks down the grade.

The 64-L on the other hand I would grade EF40 or so...

As I said, grading IHC's is not my thing....

One last one if I may - an 1882. I actually bought this one as as proof, (and the only one I paid real money for) - is it?

Thank you all for your help:).

    I'd put the 01, 64, 64L at MS63BN, MS62BN, and AU55, respectively.

Wow...I'm not following the consensus here. Even after all these mid-mint state guesses, I'm convinced I can see the slightest trace of wear on the hair to the right of the ribbon. That puts me at AU-58 RB.

Eeesh. I feel like a black sheep.
