What's going on here? Have I been looking at too many coins again or is it just me that sees what looks to be going on on this cent? Is my mind just a gutter mind? Rachel
I see a seated Lincoln that is not very pronounced due to die wear, and I see alot of die scatches in a NE to SW pattern. All of which is ordinary for business strikes.
Well, after a long nights rest I still see someones butt like they are on there knees and well, it almost looks as if Abe is smiling... (I'm sure he is... ). LoL
@RachelRuth, you may be experiencing something called Pareidolia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pareidolia And it has also been observed that: "There is an universal tendency among mankind to conceive all beings like themselves, and to transfer to every object, those qualities, with which they are familiarly acquainted, and of which they are intimately conscious. We find human faces in the moon, armies in the clouds; and by a natural propensity, if not corrected by experience and reflection, ascribe malice or good- will to every thing, that hurts or pleases us." --David Hume* http://skepdic.com/pareidol.html Anyway, whenever this happens to me, I just relax and enjoy it. (I am studying a coin now on which I am sure I see frogs. After searching for a similar coin only one Greek coin seems vaguely similar so I am starting to suspect it is pareidolia at work again.)
Looking for errors is like looking at the Sun. You look too long you're going to burn out your eyeballs.
