    If that coin made it to a grading service do you think it would be denoted as just "struck thru" ? I have wondered why the "struck thru" notation never tells me what the coin is struck thru...... talk about leaving me puzzled. I guess it is because the possibilities are endless? I never heard of struck thru thread..

    You would not believe all the things that can get struct through!! Thread , Cloth, All kinds of neat things I have seen here.

    With this one I'm going by the formation of the struck through thread. It does not appear to be from a wire bristle (brush). Possibly a thread from cotton gloves or uniform. ANACS will designate this accordingly if you request it and they agree. I might have sent this out but it's not worth it in this Proof condition. Maybe, had it been a deep/ultra cameo, but this is just a light cameo.
