Never been to one near Philly. Lancaster is about as far east as I go.

 

I wouldn't think you would have a lot of 4X4 types in Philly. I worked for a lab owned by Lancaster Labs a few lifetimes ago and got to go out to Lancaster (and I know the proper way to pronounce it and Gettysburg) for about two months. Beautiful place in Fall, and I imagine all-year long. I didn't take to scrapple though.

 

Eat old school Vietnam era C-Rations for a week and you would beg for Scrapple! Plus I like it anyways. Once you’ve lived off of only tinned foods for awhile you find almost anything edible!
I’ve eaten Hundereds of these, the Green eggs and ham loaf were my fav!

 

It doesn't say anything good about something that is good compared to eating boiled leather and sawdust. I heard Bill Cosby once say that the one thing he sneaks in during his diets is a piece of scrapple. I have some foods that I love because I had them growing up that my daughter thinks are absolutely disgusting. I guess that's why they call them "Comfort Foods."

My kids are 21 & 25 and they eat ANYTHING. they thank us for it too! They also know how to prepare more kinds of food than any of their friends because of this and both think that’s pretty cool!

 

Scrapple is okay until you have to look at it for an extended length of time uncooked. Then you realize how much it resembles the gray gunk that collects in the gutters in New York City.

Nope just another work pickup where I spent my 35 years working. This was my view everyday. If there was another 1/2” of photo Old Blue and Pops might have been in the picture!
