Nah, I went last weekend. But, I will be going in two weeks. Anyone notice that pickings have been slim?
I'll be going to a show on December 8th here where I live. Between two local coin clubs here in the area we have four shows a year, two in the spring and two in the fall.
I'll be hitting the one in San Antonio on Saturday Nov 17th. If anyone else is gonna be there, PM me and we'll get together at the show. It's always great to put a face with a name. There's a big one two weeks later in Houston. I'll be there as well. Heritage is doing a Signature Auction, but I think it's during the week. No can do - gotta have weekends.
I know you can't compare those things, but there's a coin "market" every Sunday in "Plaza Mayor" in Madrid (Spain). There are many in other Spanish towns too. I recomend you to go if you come to Spain.
i'll be at the Baltimore show on Thursday and Friday working and then for a few hours on Saturday with my oldest son. -Steve
I'll be going to the Baltimore Show this weekend. Always try to go on Fridays but I think I won't be able this time so will make it Sat.
Went to a coin show on 11-4-07, 11-11-07 and will be going to one on 11-18-07. We have at least 3 coin shows a Month in my area and all withing about 15 miles. Occationally additional ones but much bigger and I try to avoid those. Last Sunday's Show was a great one for me. Recently acquired a Whitman Album for Liberty Head Dimes and purchased enough to almost fill that album to about 3/4 full. Will make the 3rd one of that series. What I like about so many coin shows is you get to know local dealers and the prices really drop. Last Sunday's show also conflicted with one of our gun shows so had to make a choice but took the coin show.
Would like to go to the Baltimore show all: I would like to go the show in Baltimore this weekend. But I have vison problems and can not legally drive anymore. I have to depend on my family and since we live more than 2 hours away, it is a major pain for them. So maybe next year!
Here is a suggestion if you frequent coin shows. Get to know dealers as much as possible. Then ask about used coin albums. The reason is many dealers buy entire collections in albums and take all the coins out, put in 2x2's for sale at coin shows. They now have an abundance of these used albums. Many dealers I've asked told me they throw them out so I started asking if they could bring me some. One dealer recently gave me over 40 Whitman Classic Albums and promissed to bring me more and all free. Try asking.
Maybe some of the dealers in your area are going and could give you a ride. I have a different show around almost every week
if anyone is going to the baltimore show, make sure you check out the new $5 bill and the paper money exhibit - there are some stunning pieces of art there. i'll be wandering the floor with my son in the morning using our table - #1000 - as home base. -steve
I went to the Baltimore show. Big as usual. Looked and looked for a couple coins I wanted. Nowhere to be found. So I had to drop down to my secondary wants. Finally found one. It's a nice NGC MS-64 BN 1854 Half Cent (C-1). That leaves one to go for that set. An 1850. I found one but they wanted WAY too much for it. Almost double Bid. I said "No, thank you." Oh, and I got my Idaho and Wyoming state quarters. Utah is still tough to find, particularly the D's.
Yes, but you have to look around a bit. As you enter move to the back left. That's where you'll most likely find them.
