Passed through two neighborhoods full of bank branches where I'd had decent scores previously.

Probably visited 10-12 branches, got $50 MWR, $10 CWR, and about $20 loose.

The total take: one 40% half (1966) with some grime/toning (depending on your perspective)

Visited a few more branches near my dump bank - got another $30 or so in customer rolls & loose coins - 1 more 40% half (1968-D)

Usually right after the holidays is a good time for a big score or two, but I guess I'll have to keep looking.

Got my box sold to Trish. Got a box (rather eclectic mix) at the second bank in town. Got 10 rolls at our bank for fills.
Been doing stuff on my phone. About to start on the box.

Finished the other 3 boxes of cents for the week. Ended up with 57 total wheats (oldest was 1925). 17 were nice and red. Also in the 2nd box was a North Carolina counterstamped and my 71st 2000-P WAM.

Only got into one roll before dinner. Lots of clean 90s and 2000s. Only 4 copper two terrible and two not quite good enough for me to keep. should be able to do much more tomorrow. Was 3 hours lost driving down to Manvel to pick up a free recliner and back home.

2 banks tonight had $60 MWR halves and $15.50 loose...nada.

The head teller from 1 of the banks I placed an order for halves at 3 weeks ago called me today and reported their coin vault didn’t have any halves, and won’t for the foreseeable future. I asked for my order to remain in place, and the head teller assured me it would. She explained she personally spoke with the bank’s coin courier, and was surprised the courier reported they had no halves in the bank’s main coin vault to distribute.

I guess hunting pressure is high thanks to the Internet and holidays. Oh well, I’ll continue to routinely seek out loose halves.

This happened to me once before with a different bank and courier in my area about 4 years ago. It’s true.

Trish is the Lady who is my boss. She runs the courtesy booth at the store. A box of pennies is one more thing she doesn't have to carry when she goes to the bank. My pennies go out as change from the cashiers and the deli.

Is that more than you wanted to know?

I've actually been wondering the same thing since you started posting. I'm glad I know now :)

Came across a small "hoard" of nice condition ikes ($100 to be exact). When you guys search ikes what varieties do you look for. I really don't want to miss anything special in these coins which is why i am double checking. Any resources you have would be appreciated.

I know I'm a little late but here's some picture I took, from that batch and today's batch I just got. The first picture is a nice one I found, and then the second 2 sets are the same coin. I would love opinions on which one looks better. I 3d printed the white stand and I think it's pretty cool! Usually Ikes come with LOTS of bag marks, so I was pleasantly surprised when a couple had minimal marks! 20180111_200729.jpg 20180111_200743.jpg 20180111_200834.jpg 20180111_200839.jpg 20180111_200921.jpg 20180111_200928.jpg

I’m about to head over to the bank to see if they ordered my halves this week. So far it’s been a 50/50 proposition. We will see. If I get skunked today I may suspend the half box searching. It’s a lot of work to get and dump and so far out of 12boxes I’ve found like 4 4os and 1bf.

Have any of you all ever found “v” nickels in a roll? Just curious.
