While no expert on Morgans, I believe that the 1880-S, 81-S and 82-S are pretty readily available in DMPL, that is to say the populations are pretty high, so you should be able to find a nice one for a little money more than a normal gem coin.
Those dates are awesome for eye appeal. Even 63s can be pretty. 66 should look amazing! Have fun searching!
I sold a 81-s in 65 pl cac for $220 a couple years ago was pretty. This my type set coin. I could go higher in grade but I love the color
Have you considered a "plus"-designated MS65? Small premium over an ordinary 65. Nice bonus if it upgrades to 66. I don't think mine is 66-worthy. But with my budget, I'm happy with a higher-end 65.
Ok, so my 1881S has beautiful brilliant luster. The 1880S seems to have a Satin Finish. The luster is somewhat "softer". Who is familiar with this and can tell me more?
I lost my bid by $5.00. Turns out after more observation there was a carbon mark I dindin't like. So the $100.00 winning bid ($120 buyers premium total) just got me. I am more than happy as i think i want one in 66 and a green bean.

Not that wild about it. Cheek is a bit busy for a 66, and it appears to have a carbon spot on the obverse. For that grade, there aere nicer examples.
I’ve seen cleaner 66s but it looks like it has monster luster hence the bean. That or it’s better in person
I'm just going to be patient I Guess. I will be looking at other 82S's this coming weekend at an LCS. The following week I will be at a local coin show looking at more!
